Handmade needle felted wool creations

Handmade dimensional sculptures using natural and dyed wool from our sheep flock.

Most of these sculptures were created using the technique of needle felting, which is the process of interlocking wool fibers with a special barbed felting needle.  The barbs on the needle catch the natural scales of the wool strands and cause them to tangle and felt together.  To create a 3D sculpture it can take hours of work and literally thousands of stabs from start to finish. 

The hatching eggs were primarily wet felted, with  the chick's  features needle felted on.

This special birthday bunny is ready to bite into his large piece of birthday cake.  The  chocolate layered cake is complete with a candle and birthday greeting. A lot of time  was put into this personalized creation.
